Blog Changes

Re-arranged a few items on the left-hand side. A new widget "Save the Bears" has recently been added and quite a few blog links have been removed with some new friends added. In my view, if you can't be bothered top link to me, then why on Earth should I link to you? God, I can be a savage bastard sometimes! I mean, what's the point of linking to certain blogs just because they are popular? So it's goodbye and good riddance to Rachel North and Girl with a One Track Mind ( One Track Dirt Track if you ask me) and hello to Adloyada and Beaman's World.

Another great blog I admire is Jennifer Jones's "Goodness Graciousness" and her dating blog "How to tell if your Guy is a Jerk". This loosely translated to English means don't go out with a schmuck (as we say in certain parts of Norf London).

From Russia with Love - NOT

Burst out with laughter at this ridiculous story from yesterday's Daily Express. Some bloke from Margate, David Hodgkinson, (no, I don't know him despite my connections there) has sent over £20,000 to two Russian women. He was hoping that one of them would turn up at Heathrow and thrust themselves upon him. David, had "met" the two Russian women over the internet (now there's a surprise) via a Christian singles dating website called christiancupid.com (christianstupid more like). One of the women conned David into giving her money for medical bills. Money he'll never see again. According to the article, David ignored the advice of friends who told him not to get involved and now he's ended up still alone and now a bit broke.

(Yours truly met with a real stunner in St Petersburg a few years ago. Despite being savvy and well-heeled, she did hound me on the phone for months afterwards for a one-way ticket to London. She, of course, was given the order of the boot).

So what can we learn from poor David from Margate? Well, I really don't think the internet is the place to meet someone. Good old fashioned introductions through friends or family and meeting someone naturally is the best way to find that"someone special". Jennifer J in the States would agree, I'm sure.

Dating, sexy young women and older men

Two things have really perked me up over the past few days. On the first day of the Trek, my group and I came across a Maasai village. There we met a 17 year-old young woman whose husband is 69 years old. Arranged of course but hey, so what.
And in today's Times2, agony aunt Bel Mooney gives advice to a 29-year old woman whose fallen for a 56-year old man. She concludes her article with the words below (which I'd love to see rammed down the throats of certain individuals in my part of the world). Look, I maybe nearer 56 than 36, but I'm lively for my age and would love to meet someone around 33-39 or even younger, but some of the attitudes out there amongst the fairer sex of a particular age, sometimes beggars belief.
As a typical example, I was given the cold shoulder by some princess a few years back. She said to a friend about me that she didn't want to marry me and possibly become a widow in her early 60's. She's 10 chronological years younger than me.

"I know there are people reading this who will think that I should counsel you to run a mile, and certainly(to be honest) I should prefer my daughter not to date a man 27 years older.
