Blonde Joke

Two friends, a blonde and a redhead, are walking down the street and
pass a flower shop.

The redhead sees her boyfriend buying flowers. Red sighs and says, “Oh, crap, my boyfriend is buying me flowers again.”

The blonde looks quizzically at her and asks, “You don’t like getting
flowers from your boyfriend?”

Replies the redhead, “I love getting flowers, but he always has
expectations after giving me flowers. I just don’t feel like spending
the next three days on my back with my legs in the air.”

The blonde thinks a bit and says, “Don’t you have a vase?”

Sex and Relationships

I have to thank Jennifer Jones for pointing me in the direction of this common sense article at Naked Soul

Nothing new and nothing that many of us don't know already.

Blog Changes

Re-arranged a few items on the left-hand side. A new widget "Save the Bears" has recently been added and quite a few blog links have been removed with some new friends added. In my view, if you can't be bothered top link to me, then why on Earth should I link to you? God, I can be a savage bastard sometimes! I mean, what's the point of linking to certain blogs just because they are popular? So it's goodbye and good riddance to Rachel North and Girl with a One Track Mind ( One Track Dirt Track if you ask me) and hello to Adloyada and Beaman's World.

Another great blog I admire is Jennifer Jones's "Goodness Graciousness" and her dating blog "How to tell if your Guy is a Jerk". This loosely translated to English means don't go out with a schmuck (as we say in certain parts of Norf London).

As you were.

Carry on.

Blog of the Week

Lady Banana has bucketloads of photos on her site. Never boring even if she is a banana.

UPDATE

Jungle Jane nearly made it as Blog of the Week. Her blog is digital narcissism at its finest. Petite Anglaise, eat your heart out.

Slow down you move too fast!

What an amazing post this is!
A "newbie" blogger by the name of Joanna Young from Edinburgh, has highlighted a very modern problem.
Don't know about you but I'm always buzzing around doing stuff. I know I must slow down, relax a bit more and so on. I've recently taken up yoga again and have toyed with the idea of some meditation.
What do you do to slow down?

Do you feel like you're rushing all the time? If so, you might not be imagining it. There's a story in the papers today on the pace of life in the world's cities. And it's 10% faster in 2007 than it was in the early 1990s.

The study is based on the speed that pedestrians walk at - which they say is a good measure of the pace of life in a city. Going so much faster is not good news. They reckon that people in fast moving cities are less likely to help other people and have higher rates of coronary heart disease. The fastest moving city is Singapore - where they take 10.55 seconds to walk 60ft. New York comes in at number 8 - slower than Dublin would you believe. Edinburgh was reassuringly slow at 13.29 seconds. You can find out the pace of life in your city here.

If you think you might be going too fast you can take the Quirkology test (by the guys that did the pace of life project).

Commenting on comments is............................

....quite a good idea to get traffic. I've done a little of this in the past. It's so easy to ignore the views of others. Marcia, your Confidence Coach was quite open when she left this comment a few days ago.

i let anyone comment on my blogs. they are open to the public. i want to hear what other people think about my blogs and what they have to say. i do not use comment moderation. my blog is an open forum.

Women and cancer

Last night, I posted a link here about women and breast cancer. In today's Times Online, David Rose writes about the threat to women from cancer brought about by elevated blood sugar.

As ever, there are a few lines about how one can reduce the risk of contracting life threatening diseases like cancer.

“And the good news is that it is possible to reduce your blood sugar levels by eating a healthy balanced diet with lots of fruit and vegetables and maintaining a healthy weight.

“We know that up to 40 per cent of cancer cases can be prevented by this type of healthy lifestyle, so this is just another reason for people to make those small changes that could make a big difference.”

Getting traffic to your Blog

One way of doing this is by offering a quiz or meme and other questionnaires to others in the Blogosphere.

But, what do you do when confronted by the indifference, and sometimes rudeness of others? Stefanie at Ch.aoti.ca didn't have a problem the other day but Ariel Waldman did. These two lady bloggers were 2 of 5 I sent that " 5 reasons for Blogging" meme.

Should I ignore the Ariel's of this world, or should I have asked her permission to invade her space? After all, memes are the electronic equivalent of "junk snail mail".

What would you do?
