Basking in the warmth of the love festival at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, having arrived in a gas-guzzling private jet and a stretch limo that gets 2 MPG, Al Gore is found to be one of the biggest energy hogs in his home state. As the former V.P. hectors, lectures and continues to expend copious amounts of hot air regarding the so-called Climate Crisis, his larger than life home that supports his fast lane lifestyle gobbles up more energy in one month than the average American home consumes in an entire year.

Like a benevolent despot who is looking out for the little people, this self-appointed savior of our planet, populated by the pathetic, stupid masses and their internal combustion engine vehicles, natural gas stoves, heating oil warmed houses and air conditioned office buildings, are now expected to bow down and take his word, and those of scientists who will have their research grants pulled if they don’t toe the line, that if the industrialized world does not turn on his command then all is lost.

Oh, Lord of All Sciences and Predictor of All Natural Events With the Knowledge of All Ecosystems and the Universes Yet to Be Understood, please save us from ourselves before we fall into a fate worse than death. The independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization, The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, which is committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday awarding Gore the Gold Statute for Hypocrisy in regards to his energy sucking, CO belching, non-energy efficient Xanadu like estate.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359. Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore's energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore's extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore's mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year. In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006
