I am not a number, I am a free man

Thanks to PJC for this. He has a link to the Prisoner site

Great childhood tv memories. Others that spring to mind - The Saint, Man in a Suitcase, The Baron, The Avengers.

these are all lost on me. None of them seem to have plots or meaning.

I wonder whether all their producers and writers were on drugs....

Don't think so.

Ah, what a wonderful show. My Uncle let me borrow his DVD set a year ago, and now nobody understands what I mean when I shout "Information!". I really wish it were shown on PBS over here in the US, we could really use it. The commentary on society and even its somewhat dark humor are even more relevant today.

I wonder what the memorable TV programmes will be for kids today - EastEnders, Holby City, the Simpsons...

I loved "The Saint" - what woman would not go for R Moore? - but I never understood "The Prisoner".
