Valentine's Day
London, UK
Love and romance ought to be present every day of the year, IMHO.
Ripping restaurant-goers off and charging exhorbitant amounts of money for a single red rose on one single day is bizarre.
And I'm no cynic, so there!

Me and my wife both thought that there was something incongruous about encouraging flying in expensive foreign flowers to the determent of the environment, in the name of celebrating a loving relationship.
OK but what about those Kenyan flower growers who need to sell their flowers over here?
Quite right, JJ. If you love someone, you should tell them every day.
I wonder how much of the £10 per single rose that I saw yesterday gets to Kenya, not much I suspect, but yes you have a valid point. However the way climate change is going there is the serious probability that growing roses in Kenya may eventually no longer be an option, so I suppose that it’s all down to priorities.
