Leicester Square Television - the first six months

If you've been following LSQ TV's red-carpet "adventures", you'll probably agree that our first six months of operations has been very successful.

My co-presenters and I have been able to chat with a number of stars of the screen - Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Sir Michael Caine, Will Smith and Gwyneth Paltrow to name just a few. LSQ TV's "fan-cam" team headed up by Elizabethtoni have now clocked up over one million hits on You Tube. This figure is in addition to the tens of thousands of you who have dipped into the LSQ TV website.

So, a huge thank-you from everybody at Leicester Square Television!

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey stars of Fool's Gold were at it's European Premiere in the Square (Thursday evening). LSQ TV will be in the Square on Sunday for the Premiere of Flashbacks of a Fool starring Daniel Craig

Petite Anglaise on Woman's Hour this morning

It's a rarity for me to be tuning in to BBC Radio 4 in the morning and it's even more of a rarity for me to be listening to Woman's Hour! But my ears pricked up whilst carving grooves up the M11 earlier today, because the one and only Petite Anglaise a.k.a Catherine Sanderson, was being interviewed about her life in Paris.

One had to endure several minutes of how she got into France and the French and how her awful parents didn't allow her to have a pen-friend or exchange visit. I do admire her determination to learn French fluently though. Of course, her appearance on the radio this morning is all about her book which is due out soon. I may just get a copy to find out more about her battle with her ex-employer(you know my views on using the Internet at work)and to support a fellow blogger.

UK Government to nationalise Northern Rock

Just heard that Northern Rock is to be nationalised. Apparently, the Treasury has dismissed the latest proposals from Richard Branson's Virgin Group and from a management team of the Northern Rock itself. This leaves one "viable" option. Nationalisation.

It'll be the first time this has happened to a UK business since the socialist days of the 1970's. It has been reported that the Chancellor and the Prime Minister have been concerned about the burden on taxpayers. Yeah right!

New Year Celebrations culminated a short while ago with a spectacular pyrotechnic display at Hampstead Garden Suburb. Far more civilised than mixing with the millions in Central London.

Earlier I attended small gathering where there was some lovely classical music and singing.
