Using a web tv presenter can really enhance your website and drive more traffic to your site. The example below shows the author of this blog presenting for Vodafone. This commercial was produced by Videotile who were mentioned on this site last year here

If you're about to accept the role of corporate host or MC at an event make sure you do these three things:
1. Make friends with the AV technician
2. Check that the microphones are working correctly
3. Always do a "dry run" immediately prior to the event.

This story reminds me of the time I had to deliver a voicer from a train for Capital Gold some years ago. The reason - signal problems at Swindon.

On Twitter of course. Top presenter Jeremy Clarkson may prove to be more popular than Wossy and Stephen Fry.

BBC TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has made another gaffe. At a press conference in Sydney (where he's filming) he suggested that Prime Minister Gordon Brown was a "one-eyed Scottish idiot". You may feel that's a fairly unpleasant thing to say about the PM and he rightly apologised afterwards.
So another BBC presenter says something he shouldn't have. Why can't people handle themselves with a bit more dignity instead of behaving like unruly schoolchildren? Perhaps the BBC would be better off with a presenter whose up-and-coming.

For some time I, along with other presenters, use the Presenter Centre as an effective way of self-marketing.

You really ought to listen to one of our best presenters Gabby Logan on BBC Radio 5 live. Bright, perceptive and punchy her show is a great listen. A little earlier this morning, Bob Weide, director of "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" was one of her guests. He had a bit more time with her than I did at Leicester Square the other evening and he spoke in more depth about H2LF&AP as well the US Election.
For those of you who have seen my presenter showreel (see left-hand margin or http://www.jeremyjacobs.com/presenter-preview/) you'll know that she appears about two-thirds of the way through. Apart from being a radio and television presenter, Gabby is also a corporate host and speaker.

One way of keeping in touch with your existing and prospective customers is to inform them of what you are doing. Many individual and organisations send mailshots and the quarterly newsletter is always popular isn't it.
Internet expert, Graham Jones, likes e-mail. So do I. Just recently, I sent out a link to my "latest news" page on my main presenter site.

"Presenter, corporate host, radio broadcaster" , so what do you spend most of your time doing?
My answer is this. In media, it's not that easy to specialise or concentrate on one area. In my view, I think it's better to have a blend of experience rather than being obsessed about wanting to be a presenter on a certain television programme. Building your brand, gaining experience by producing and presenting, for example, a regular podcast or video blog, will get you noticed.

I often like to see different presenting styles. This clip, from a German TV station, shows the presenter standing, whereas our "footballing gurus" tend to be seated.

Lisa Braithwaite, the public-speaking blogger, has just posted an article on the importance of slowing down when one's delivers a speech or presentation. I would add that when delivering news buletins on radio or presenting something live to camera, it's essential that you speak slowly.
Why not try and mouth the words of the newscaster next time you watch the television news. You'll be surprised by the speed of the delivery.
Here's those tips about slowing down:
Slowing down allows you to breathe. When you breathe, you send more oxygen to your brain, you support your voice, and you calm yourself down.
Slowing down allows you to hear yourself talking. When you can hear yourself talking, you're less likely to get ahead of yourself, lose your place or forget your next point.
Slowing down forces you to be concise with your material. You'll have to leave out all the extraneous and non-critical content and just focus on the most meaningful aspects of your message.

They say in television that a presenter should never work with animals and children. Here's why:

Over at my other site is my latest showreel. You can see it here
Like any other business, one should always update one's CV. In the case of a presenter, corporate host or radio broadcaster that normally means new photographs, or a voice or video showreel.

You would think that an experienced presenter or weatherman wouldn't "go into one" like this guy in Florida.............
